VINCE Cable is to speak to car industry leaders at next week’s SMMT International Automotive Summit.
It will be one of the secretary of state for business, innovation and skills’ first speeches to the UK automotive sector.
SMMT chief exec Paul Everitt said the UK car industry is focusing on global markets and putting an increasing spotlight on delivering lower carbon vehicles.
‘As the new government begins to establish its priorities, industry must be at the forefront of its consideration.
‘Vince Cable’s confirmation to speak at the Summit is undoubtedly a welcome addition to the line-up of industry leaders and stakeholders.’

The day will also include break-out sessions including one on the challenges of the used car market.
